Diagnosing the Cannon Double Oven Cooker
The customer had a Cannon double oven range cooker where both ovens were experiencing problems.
After carrying out a detailed inspection, we identified that two thermostats needed replacing, along with a problem affecting the oven door glass.
Thermostats play an important part in controlling the temperature inside an oven. When they begin to fail, an oven can struggle to reach the correct temperature, overheat or cook food unevenly.
Rather than immediately suggesting replacement of the complete cooker, we investigated the individual components to determine whether the appliance could be repaired.
Two Oven Thermostats Replaced
Once the faults were diagnosed, we replaced the two faulty thermostats, restoring temperature control for both ovens.
Working on large range cookers can involve significant dismantling to access internal components, wiring, burners and control systems. Our team carefully stripped down the necessary sections of the cooker before installing the replacement parts and checking the appliance.
Oven Door Glass Repair
The cooker also required attention to the oven door glass.
Damaged or incorrectly fitted oven glass can affect the efficiency and safe operation of the appliance, so this was repaired as part of the job.
Once the thermostats and oven door had been dealt with, the cooker was reassembled and tested.
Both Ovens Working Again
After years of previous attempts to resolve the problems, both ovens were finally working correctly again.
The customer was extremely pleased to have the full use of the cooker restored without needing to replace such a substantial appliance.
This job shows why a proper diagnosis matters. An older cooker or gas appliance can still have years of use left when the correct fault is identified and replacement parts are available.
